All electric
Mitsubishi Hyper Heat heat pumps are the gold standard in extreme cold weather performance. We love them for their ability to maintain 100% heating capacity down to -5° F.
If you are looking for the best heat pump out there on the market, look no further than these Mitsubishi units.
These heat pumps feature Hyper-Heating, which eliminates the need for backup resistive heating. This results in peace of mind and reduces costly electrical work during installation.
Dual fuel
A dual fuel system is an easy way to convert to an all-electric home gradually.
Dual fuel means using two fuel types for heating: electricity and natural gas. Your heat pumps will take the place of your A/C units, but will also provide 90%+ of your heating needs. You'll keep your existing gas furnace as backup heat for the coldest hours.
You can then replace your furnaces with electric backup heating down the road. Dual fuel is a useful option for homes that would require electrical panel upgrades, but want to defer that cost until later.
Mini-split
Mini-split units are great for adding conditioning to a previously unconditioned space, like a garage or new addition.
These units do not require ductwork and can give you room-by-room temperature control. Mitsubishi makes the best ductless mini-splits we've seen.
Do be aware, these heat pumps will have an indoor unit that is mounted on your wall, about 2ft below the ceiling. If you have central ducting, we suggest you try to utilize it before exploring ductless options.
